The Arco Masonic Lodge:
A Century of Brotherhood and Tradition
Since 1916, the Arco Masonic Lodge has been a steadfast presence in the heart of southeastern Idaho. Nestled in the rugged terrain of the Snake River Plain, Arco was already a community of hardworking individuals when the Lodge was founded. Local miners, farmers, and small-town entrepreneurs came together to create a place where ideals of brotherhood, integrity, and charity could thrive.
In the early days, when the town was still feeling its way through the challenges of frontier life, the Lodge became a crucial pillar of support for its members. Whether it was helping families through difficult winters, offering a safe place to share stories, or providing moral and financial support during tough times, the Masons of Arco became the backbone of a close-knit community.
As the years passed and Arco itself evolved—eventually becoming the first city in the world to be powered by atomic energy in 1955—the Lodge maintained its commitment to those original values. Through times of prosperity and change, the Lodge continued to be a constant: a place where tradition was upheld, new friendships were formed, and young Masons learned the importance of service and leadership.
Now, over a century later, the Arco Masonic Lodge is still a cornerstone of the community. While the world around it has transformed, the Lodge remains a symbol of continuity, a reminder that even in the face of rapid change, some things—like the bonds of brotherhood and the pursuit of a higher moral standard—endure.
